How to handle/fix nightly long middle of the night wake-ups - 6months

We’ve been sleeping training our 6 month old for the past three weeks with very mixed results.

We used Taking Cara Babies (modified Ferber) who promised us a baby who sleeps through the night after two weeks. We are far from that. He did it a few times in the first week when he was taking an hour to put himself down but not since then.

It took a while, but I think we’ve conquered the long time to sleep by modifying his schedule. He now falls asleep in about ten minutes with or without crying.

But now we’re at a place where he is waking up 1-2 times a night and not able to get himself back to sleep.

We see him resettling after many of his sleep cycles but once or twice a night it goes off the rails. I feel like at this point that shouldn’t be happening every night. The pop ins seem to make him cry more.

Does anyone have any advice on how to treat long wake ups? We’ve stuck to our modified Ferber but last night I gave in and fed him at the one hour mark. It took him another hour to go down after that. The night before I realized he had bad hiccups from screaming so I rubbed his belly to call him down and then fed him (it was time for nighttime feed)

Can anyone spot anything glaringly wrong with this schedule?

6:30am wake up

1.5/2.5/3/3 (3 hour total naps)

7:00pm bedtime routine: - change/sleep sack, - Books - Book - Bed by 7:30

10:30pm dream feed
