S2 shingles with vulvar involvement.

Hi everyone, I’m new to this subreddit so please bear with me. I (34f) am currently dealing with my 2nd bout of shingles but in a place I never thought I’d deal with.

I have it along the left S2 nerve, so along my buttock and top of my thigh. Unfortunately I made the stupid mistake of thinking the very first blister (no pain yet at that point) was a pimple and I popped it, which i immediately regretted. So it’s everywhere.

Now it’s reached the left labia and now there are bisters right on the clitoral hood and I’m in a lot of pain. I can’t sleep at all and I constantly feel like im about to pass a kidney stone. I’m really worried about PHN given how many nerves are right there.

I just started valacyclovir today and hope that maybe it’ll help with the pain.

Anyone else had a similar presentation? If so, what helped?
