I accidentally started beef on Chinese social media.

Ok I know I'm in the wront technically but I wanna vent. Like many of the tiktokers rn I made a rednote. The chinese social media thats being invaded by bored americans. I joined it because I post nerd stuff once a day as my hobby.

So to test the app I grabbed 3 vids from my tiktok about me showing off nerd junk. One happened to be my hero academia related. Turns out china has a massive beef with mha. I had no clue and only good intentions. Just wanted to share my nerd love with a new platform.

What I didn't know is one of the villains had a kinda racist name against Chinese people. I say had because after it was found to be offensive they fixed it for the english release of the manga.

So how tf was I supposed to know that? Luckily there was some sweet people that nicely helped me and explained what was wrong. I quickly took down any mha content and put an apology video that did better than I thought it would views wise.

I explained that I didn't mean anything by it just in america the series doesn't have the meaning it has there. I got dragged hard tho even tho I apologized. Its the same as americans on social media but it still bugs me. Is it that hard to believe that its just a misunderstanding? I feel like its very clear I didn't post a video about an anime toy maliciously. I feel awful but I don't think its entirely my fault.
