Submariner no waitlist in Schiphol

Submariner no waitlist

I was in Schiphol Airport Amsterdam yesterday. I had some time to kill, so visited every watch boutique. Then I discovered one (there's two) of the Rolex stores.

There was this Submariner for sale for €7,800 (£6,570 or $8,492) as there's no sales tax. There was also a few DayDates and a Datejust.

They explained their stock rotates daily, they never know what they've get in. Sounds like the world's best pic’n’mix.

Now I know Rolex stores have mainly existed the last 6 years or so only to disappoint people, but here at this store, no waitlist is maintained. First come, first serve. I didn't buy it, I figured there's probably a good reason you can suddenly get a Sub tax free, no wait. Possibly a sign of where things are headed.

Would you have bought it if you were catching a flight in 30 mins?
