Re8 Where did The Duke come from?

Could it be possible that The Duke from Resident Evil Village is just another one of Mother Miranda’s failed Cadou experiments. It’s never revealed who or what The Duke is, even Ethan tried to find the answer when he woke up in the back of Dukes carriage but he never got an answer. The Four Lords like Dimetrescu for instance were all given land to watch over and govern for Mother Miranda, could Duke possibly have been given the job as the village merchant, which gave him privilege to leave the village and return as much as he wanted unlike the other lords. It just seems as if it’s either Duke originated from the village or came from somewhere else in the world, but having such a large collection of treasure and weapons and being able to get places in his carriage quickly he seems almost immortal to have collected all that over a long time.
