Hate that my country is becoming Protestant

Live in LATAM and it is honestly detestable and retarded seeing ibero-afro-indio (like myself) people with "Dos Santos" as their last name hating on the Virgin Mary and going to Megachurches to worship a calvinist demon, sing (english language!!!) gospel music, drink from the communal grape juice and then wash it all down at the nearest gas sation McDonald's. Until about 40 years ago Protestantism was absolutely insignificant but now it represents at least a third of the population and it occupied much of the vaccum left by the decline of (beautiful, soulful, wholesome) folk Catholicism in the big cities.

Funny how we sometimes ignore the religious aspect of American cultural colonization; Dispensationalist theology is booming so hard among the working class people that you see the Star of David literally everywhere and some people basically think that the national state of Israel is the literal biblical Israel (none of these people even know what a Jew looks like btw, you don't see many of them in the favelas)

Honestly it is just an ugly religion that imo doesn't harmonize well with MY people and i just wanted to vent about it with my friends over at r/redscarepod :)
