2024 was so bad I succumbed to chinese superstitions

two months ago my boss (Chinese) goes “do you know why my phone case is red?” he then tells me that every twelve years after the year youre born marks the full rotation of the chinese zodiac, meaning you’re “at your most vulnerable”. ie if you were born in the year of the dragon, every subsequent year of the dragon is an extra perilous year, and to ward off threats you must keep something red on your person at all times! he is 36 and i’m 24, so this year was apparently treacherous for both of us! 2024 has far and away been the worse year of my life so i figured i had nothing to lose and i’ve been painting my nails red ever since. my year has improved. my boss got a new phone case and his wife lost the baby
