5th Gen Ram Motor Generator Unit

Hey y’all just wanted to share a recent experience with my Ram that may help someone in the future. I have a 2019 Ram Rebel with 73k miles. A month or two ago I got a check engine light and when I ran a code reader it was not showing any trouble codes. The truck started up fine and never had any issues while driving. Finally after about two weeks I finally got code P2535 (Ignition Switch Problem). I took it to Ram and they advised my Motor Generator Unit (MGU) was faulty. They stated it would run me $2300 for a new MGU. I did a little research and made some calls and discovered this part is actually listed under the Federal Emissions Warranty and is covered for 8 years or 80k miles. It is called “Belt Driven Hybrid Starter Generator Assembly” in the warranty booklet from 2019. I called the dealership and they didn’t even know about this. The service rep literally said “damn man, I wonder how many people actually paid for this without knowing.” Long story short the replacement got approved and it’s been running good as normal ever since. I did however have to pay for new belts which were only $150. I will be attaching pictures of the MGU, and a screenshot from the warranty e-book. Just wanted to spread some knowledge in case someone runs into a similar problem.

Here’s the entire warranty book section 5.2 states what is covered.
