Cheap Big Storage for older Photos

Hey guys,

Whats your recommended cheap storage option for saving older photos. I want to transfer ever other month some older photos from my ssd to a large storage for several years.

So just buy a hdd like 8TB and thats it? They are cheap (compared to ssds). A NAS i find to expensive, although its safest for storing.
