Serious Endgame Problems
How am I supposed to sustain high tier Waystones? I dump *exalt, after exalt, after exalt* into these things to get a higher chance of finding them. I get 285%. 300%, whatever percent, and I may as well have not wasted my currency at all, because all I got was a lousy Tier 1 Waystone. Oh, you can craft them? Let me just spend more than a quarter of a million gold trying to recoup the Waystone I just used.
Why is it like this? I finish map after map, playing so damn careful as to not die and waste the one life I get in these things. Each one taking way too long to finish because of how I have to carefully approach every pack, so I don't get surprise one-shot by a bolt of lightning or stray ball of fire. God forbid I lose the EXP I carefully gathered for the past 10 minutes, not to mention the time needed to recoup the lost Waystone.
Does the Endgame just suck for anyone else? And I mean, this isn't even me complaining about the sheer lunacy of decisions that resulted in current Trials, but this is horribly balanced to keep the me engaged and not frustrated. The game was solid in the Act parts. Fantastic gamedesign with appropriate challenges. Act bosses are fun, and the overall pace was mostly airtight to keep the player motivated. And now, in Endgame, it has gone right down to one of the most frustrating and overly sadistic games I've ever played.
I get it. It's in EA. However, GGG has more than a decade's worth of experience with this stuff, so I expect they know what they're doing when making decisions as to what challenges the players will have to deal with. I seriously hope major changes are implemented soon.
