Congrats Oura on Meals feature (+ feedback in the end if some Oura team reads this and send to the correct development team i would appreciate)
Experience and thoughts:
Started using it 2 days ago and i think it's incredible simple and insightfull what they did :)
There's no counting macros, no bad or good foods, no restrictions so it would avoid all the negatives it would come with that and also the trouble on log every single detail you eat, just take a picture or write the food you eat and you're good to go.
Most important here is the time you log it so it can see a "pattern" and if there's none it would tell you to try to shift a bit to have a "regular meal schedule"
You just put a photo or describe the meal and it put the ingredients there for example:
Oats Yogurt Chicken etc
No calories, no measures or servings for each item, nothing :)
Then you save it along with time you eat it, you can only log daily so you can't put what you eat the day before
Then show you the time of your meals in a circle along with your sleep and wind down "eat window" and from there you can see your meal timing compared with those other factores
Later i guess it will provide sentences like how it impacted your sleep
Didn't calibrate yet but i guess it will say things like try to eat earlier, try to have a easier meal or if it going a bit more detailed based on ingredients would say to eat less fat meal near bed time and more protein
So it will not judge, make you count calories, or punish you, it will only kinda give more insights on your meal times based on your sleep schedule and try to mantain the same times so your body adjust instead of have random snacks :)
Maybe later with Veri will provide better insights on glucose if you use a CGM but for now i think it's a great addon and quite simple to use, the few times i took pictures it identify way better than myfitnesspal or other scan AI features mostly because it will not go into deep about servings and just describe ingredients and food it appears there
Feedback and improvements:
-First and foremost please don't put iOS always on your priority since people get more and more frustated since AI Advisor didn't even shift to beta in Android :(
-A welcome feature would be to let you just import some previous meal like "memories" on AI Advisor
-Even if it's inside the "typing" let you have the option to just add a previous text you wrote is already a good start
-For example my snack and breakfast and dinner are usually the same so i could just had the option to repeat the text i wrote the day before with all the detailed food instead of had to copy to a notepad and do it myself like i'm doing now to save time on pictures :)
-Talking about AI Advisor, i suppose it's on roadmap but ofc let your AI know also about this meal part is ofc amazing to have that into conversations (i tried asked AI Advisor but says it didn't had access to my meals :P)
-A widget to login directly into the meal log and the current time along with previous import previous day meal will be excelent
Keep it this simple and don't introduce the necessity to log every serving, maybe you could introduce import of those from Health connect and Apple Health from nutrition side but this "meal timing" is nice and simple as it
