Do experiments actually work in the app?

I'm an android user.

Got the email today about self-directed experiments and community and personal discoveries.

I can't find any discoveries in the app, and every time I try the experiments menu it just keeps telling me to try the late caffeine experiment. Which I did. But it doesn't seem to do anything else.

Is this just another case of Android being 2nd class citizens?
