How long before you give up on a game?

I’ve played two routes on nightshade and one route on 7sCarlet and I’m wondering whether to give up on both games because I was so bored whilst playing through them.

How long do you give it before you give up on a game? E.g. do you play through x many routes first?

Are there any signs you look out for that the game isn’t for you?
