Andarna and Iris theory
We already know in the Isles the dragons had no power and were suffering while Andarna had no problem at all. Probably cause she's an Irid and her power is related to the sky. Unlike the other dragons it doesn't matter which land they are in.
Which is also why after Andarna left, when there wasn't enough power on land (according to Tairn), Violet felt there was cause she's bonded to Andarna and ground powers don't bother her. But then again this was after their bond was broken.
But I also think Violet's and Andarna's bond was never really broken cause she could still dreamwalk even after Andarna left.
Also I think Humans snd destruction wasn't the only reason the Irids left. They seemed to despise the dragons too. Is that cause the dragons get their powers from the ground just like the venins and wyverns? It has also been said in the book how channeling power from the sky is safer than channeling from ground. The Iris clearly disappove of how the dragons get their powers. And thus left.
