Considering walking across the panhandle. Thoughts/advice?

Hey, all! I'm a graduating high school Senior from near Houston, TX. A couple of my friends and I wanted to do something fun, and this is what we came up with, because wouldn't it be cool to be able to tell people we walked across Oklahoma? However, I've never been in Oklahoma for more than a couple of hours, so I figured this place would be able to give some good advice. Anyways, onto our plan.

We're considering going between late May and early June, depending on the weather. The route we're considering the strongest begins with taking 270 / 23 from Booker, TX to Beaver, where we will stay the night in a motel. This is a 21-25 mile walk, depending on where we park our vehicle. For the second day, we will continue North for 15 miles until the state line to finish our journey. As for getting back to the state line, we haven't planned that far ahead. I was thinking we could try to set up a ride with someone in the area beforehand, or perhaps we could leave some bikes near the state line in advance. If you guys have any ideas of how we could get back, please feel free to share!

On to the more practical paragraph - what do you guys think about the feasibility of this mission? If the weather does turn bad, how much warning would you expect us to have, and will it be enough for us to get somewhere safe? Also, what do y'all think about the safety of staying in Beaver overnight and just being on 270 / 23? Any input and advice would be appreciated!
