My parents are dysfunctional and all I care about is my dogs

My family is a mess. My dad has no stable job or consistent income. We're one sickness away from falling into debt. He never bothered with insurance or anything important. My mom is a stay-at-home mom, but my dad made her quit her job and never gave her an allowance or anything. So, what she would do is increase our home bills to pocket the extra money, because my dad can't prioritize or budget for anything. He owes a lot of people money—rent, car payments, and so on.

He even brags to my mom that there’s a woman financially supporting him. She doesn’t care, as long as things are in order. Just now, she confessed to my little brother and me that she regrets taking him back when she was pregnant with our older brother. I don’t know how to process any of this right now.

On top of that, my dad is weaponizing our dogs against me. I told him to return the car since he’s two months behind on payments. The car had been rented out to us by some random person, and now they’re harassing my mom for payments. Since I told him to just return the car, he’s saying we need to get rid of our dogs. I can’t understand the logic behind that at all. For context, I'm building my savings secretly right now to move out WITH my dogs but right now is not a good time financially.
