Can someone explain the treaty bill thing?

Ok ok so I’m gonna put my understanding here.

So currently we have two versions of the treaty (English and Māori). English ancestors agreed to the English version and Māori ancestors agreed to the Te Reo version. The problem being there was mistranslation so the English and Te Reo version were different so our ancestors agreed to different things.

The Act Treaty Bill is trying to form a resolve to one part of Te Tiriti o Waitangi I think?

But if it were the case that this is what it was trying to do why is there so much hate towards it?

I can imagine maybe there is some hate towards how Act is trying to translate it? But surely the response should be that it can be seen how this is needed and proposal of different translations and solution should be made instead of just hate?

Thanks in advance to any corrections and explanations made haha
