Going to MEPS today, I'm planning on choosing a rate with good quality of life but I've heard they might pressure me into choosing a more difficult rate because of my score. Am I doing the right thing?
My plan right now is to choose either LS, YN, or AZ (if avaliable) I basically want to use the navy as a stepping stone into college or something else in life, so my plan is getting a rate with a decent QOL, doing my time and getting out with benefits and money saved up. I got a really high score after taking the picat though and I'm eligible for everything.
I've told my parents this and they argue with me, they keep telling me I should do nuke or try to become an officer down the road and I should stay longer. They've even implied I'm being lazy and that the rates I want aren't worth it. I'm literally joining the military and they're making me feel like I'm lazy for it.
Now I'M even starting to doubt myself a bit, I've heard with a score like mine they might try to get me to sign off on a more challenging rate. Is it wrong if I still choose something like YN or LS?
