New Years Eve Getaway

Hi! I was looking for places to go within the tristate for New Years Eve with my girlfriend. We're both in our early 30s. I was trying to think of either a resort or hotel, but I was looking for parties or events geared towards a younger crowd. AC has come to mind but we were thinking something a little more lowkey or less bombastic. I am trying to keep my budget under $800. I considered the Poconos or even North Jersey. I am from Monmouth and the hard part I found is finding events at resorts. It can even be a cool gala, and I am open to NYC as long as it's not Midtown.
