Place Recommendations to visit in the Castle that is New / Newcastle
Hello Newies, I'm thinking of going to visit for a couple of days with one night hotel stay in between.
I have a pregnant wife, 3 years old toddler turning 4, and we are thinking of venturing to Newie for a getaway. I've never been before.
I hope you guys could throw us some recommendations that is friendly and fun for the missus and kiddo.
If Newie isnt the place, are there any other town or suburbs you would recommend?
Thanks so much in advance, guys.
EDIT - based on the comments, it looks like Newie's all about the beaches. Are there any other stuff apart from beaches, like indoor activities or good foods to eat out (the kid is a fussy eater at times)?
UPDATE Thank you all for the suggestions. Yesterday was warm/hot with cooling breeze from the sea. One thing I noticed is that Newcastle doesn't have much shade all around so luckily I bring an umbrella for the missus to prevent sunburn. In fact, lack of shade, limited tram stops and lots of walking around Newcastle saw us going to less places than originally planned.
I would say, the real highlight is the Canoe Pool. In fact, the kid had so much fun that she refuses to leave. I had to literally carry her stiff body all the way to the car.
The ferry from Queens Wharf to Stockton Wharf was quite short so we just completed one round trip without walking on Stockon because of the weather, heat being energy draining.
Memorial Walk was done in the afternoon, around 4pm but the hot weather was still unrelenting.
Overall Newcastle was nice, but due to the weather, we are absolutely drained.
