ethernet cable suggestions
recently switched to superloop from telstra from 50/20 to 1000/50 on hfc. only ethernet i run is between the ntd to the modem and from the modem to my printer and pc, which are located right next to the modem. my cables are 3 metres each but even a metre is plenty for my setup
currently just using the cat 5e cables that cable with my telstra nbn and was wondering was wondering if an upgrade is worthwhile. I know that's technically my connection barely saturates the bandwidth of 5e but i thought perhaps upgrading the cable for higher mhz or just better quality in general could be a good investment - these cables are pretty cheap anyway so why not..
I did a bit of reading and alot of people say cat 7 and 8 cables in the consumer market are 99% fake. most of these posts are 6 months to a few years old so I thought maybe things could've changed. 6a was a resounding recommendation and i figured the 500+ mhz coimd be a good upgrade but all of those cables are 10+ metres long which is just unnecessary for me. so it leaves me with cat 6 as well as cat 7/8 which i have no clue on the authenticity of.
any suggestions would be appreciated.
