Anyone else choose a popular name thinking it WASN'T popular?
I thought Aurora was cute and was LESS common than the other "Ar" names like Ariana, Arielle, Aurelia, Aria etc. but was shocked to see it was #12 in the USA in 2024. People say it's Sleeping Beauty so of course it's popular but that movie came out SEVENTY years ago literally in the fifties so how is it possible I've never met a single person with that name young or old as a 30yo that lived on both the East and the West coast if it's always been popular? Not even just counting people irl I have never heard of a single celebrity, influencer or anyone in the public eye with that name for the past three decades (in the US at least). I thought people choosing Emma, Amelia, Sophia, Olivia thinking it was unpopular was kind of dumb but now I'm starting to see how it could happen when a name shoots up in the rankings.
