First LGS Experience Was Disheartening. What Do You Like About Going To The LGS?

I went to commander night and was pretty excited to go with my friends, but ultimately ended up going alone which was a bit of a bummer to start. Then I find that no proxies are allowed which left me with two precons to choose from in my box, which I was okay with but still bummed out since I proxied very basic cards like counterspell for my other decks.

10$ to get in and it was honestly just three of us watching one guy play and then the experience was over. One of my opponents was ten years old and started crying halfway through which made it even worse! The winner told me that we all wager packs and then literally won on turn 6 before anyone could do a thing. So…then we played a second match without wagers and he pub stomped equally hard. Then the night was over.

Along with many other things, like the staff being mostly unfriendly. It just seems like an event that’s not a place for beginners or casual fun.
