Is anyone tired of works being destroyed?
Works of art, and literature have been being destroyed for these current times. Rewriting stuff is disrespectful for the people that came before them, whether they are dead or alive. You've seen how poorly handled the new Canon for Star Wars is stomped in on itself and cornered when they had books and comics dating back to the 90's to follow. Or how Rings of Power is destroying Tolkiens legacy with an inaccurate portrayl of the second age and even giving Orcs feelings. I would love for these things to exist, if they did it right. You know what was done right? It was near unanimous that Fallout was a great a show, followed the Canon, added new twists to the games story, and despite them having to shift a city or two closer together, the show was a 10/10 for me. Let's not even get started on Halo, what a travesty. Whatever person is running behind the scenes going "Oh I want to put my creative vision on this work" should automatically get fired. No, you're going to follow the previous works from this game, book or movie and put it on our homes for us to watch. These showrunners don't know the material they're paid to cover, they only care about the name of the brand and how much they can squeeze from us by stamping a Franchise on the cover. Star Wars in the early 2000's to 2010 was nearly a sacred community with 3 divisions, Expanded Universe fans that loved it all and then the Original Trilogy and Prequel Trilogy, but all had common ground somewhere until the Sequel Trilogy, both of them have a new enemy. I loved growing up in this time period reading Star Wars Books, playing the games, hoping to see Cade Skywalker on the big screen. I'm now in my 30's and since 2015, Star Wars is a shell of its former self. The community is even more divided with the Woke vs Anti-woke crowd, Disney Canon Vs Expanded Universe. Prequel Trilogy and Original Trilogy fans going at it against the Sequel Trilogy. All because of JJ Abrams saying that the Expanded Universe was too hard to follow. All it took was one guy to destroy an entire franchise. This would start a ripple effect in gaming and movies, where original works were being redone and released at a washed up version that they once were..
