American Monarchy - Elected Monarchs?
I'm new to monarchism and I have some questions.
I warmed up to monarchism through distributist political ideas. I'm curious about how Monarchism might work in the context of America.
Selecting a monarch in America seems difficult since there is no bloodline to pick from.
The Monarcho-Distributist John Medaille suggested that the US senate be appointed by the Governers and then the Senate would select a Monarch for a term of 8 years.

I think that's a workable idea but would most of you consider that a real Monarchy?
It seems like a different way to do the presidency to me. It also ties the monarch into the election cycle and that defeats the purpose to me.
In contrast, would you consider the same process, governors electing senators that elect a lifetime Monarch a better solution? It would not allow the Monarchy to be tied to a bloodline and it could change over time.
Would that system be consistent with Monarchy?
Also, what powers should the American monarch have?
I would imagine they would hold Veto powers, decide how to execute laws and be the figurehead but not have law making powers.
