Help with painting a Die-Cast Model
Hello! New member here and it has been a long time since I painted anything like this. One of my good friends just recently got his pilot’s license and to celebrate this and his birthday, I am trying to gift him a model of the Cessna 172 Skyhawk he passed his test in.
After much contemplation on which model to go with (metal/plastic/prebuilt/in parts/3d print) I purchased a die-cast model of this plane (1:72) but the paint job that came on the model does not match the one he flew.
I reached out to a couple of model painters on etsy but had no success - so I am back to doing it myself (which is fine, just very busy currently with other projects, etc.). At this point I figured it would be best to ask this community what would be recommended paint/approach wise - any videos that show a “good process” for this? Or does anyone have a recommendation for where I could find someone capable of doing this well?
