New Mazda 3 Underbody Covers/Splash Shields a Rust Hazard?
While I sit here as the technicians at my local mechanic shop do an annual Krown rust control treatment on my new 2023 Mazda 3 Sport (a must have where I live due to salted winter roads), I was thinking about how much of a barrier the Mazda 3's underbody covers/splash shields are to effectively clean the underside of your car and how this is such a risk for rust.
Literally the entire underside of this car is covered in plastic covers to the extent that you're never going to be able to regularly spray off salt on the actual areas that matter (exhaust, frame, etc.). These covers certainly won't totally prevent water/salt water from finding their way into these areas (as intended by Mazda) so it seems like a major rust hazard, no?
