Black Oxford shoes for tuxedo?
Need help with choosing a pair of black Oxford shoes for tuxedo.
I am going to be wearing a tuxedo (black jacket and white dress shirt). To match, I am going to get some black oxfords and learn to apply high shine to them, instead of buying black patent shoes that I will never wear again.
The question is that I have a bit of wide feet in the toe box, specifically, my right foot. With Allen Edmonds Park Ave, I wear 8.5 EE which sometimes give me a slight tightness feeling in the right lateral toe box. For Alden, I was sized to be 8E for a cordovan 986 penny loafer (I should have tried the Oxford at that time too, but wasn’t on my radar).
Right now, I am leaning on getting the Alden 907 straight Tip Bal Oxford in black calf because I know the approximate sizing and I already have Park Ave (although it’s another color - Brown).
I do like the slimmer silhouette of Crockett and Jones or Carmina, but finding exact size and narrower fit without a store near by worries me (Florida).
With that said, what Oxford shoes should I get?
Thanks in advance!
