ISO: Consumer Protection Lawyer
Hello!
I need to sue an oil change place for totaling my car. I own my car free and clear.
I went for a routine oil change with no prior problems with my car before the service was done.
After leaving I only was able to drive 55 miles before t my car stalled and smoke was profusely coming out from both my tailpipe and under the hood. This also left me stranded on the side of the road in -5°F weather after business hours.
After letting the car cool off, I checked the oil, and the dipstick was more than 2x the cars limit (up to the corkscrew) and it was dirty. I documented everything in pictures.
Through my assessment and what the repairs shop told me, the oil change play didn't drain my old oil and topped it off with 6 qts of new oil, causing too much pressure in the engine and for head gaskets to blow.
Between the towing fees I had to pay, cost of the oil change, and the damage assessed at the manufacturer mechanic shop, I'm out at $14k with my vehicle only being worth $15k.
Any advice on lawyers I can reach out to would be very helpful. Thank you for your help!
