What happened??!!!

I’m not sure what happened to my macbook. I took it out of a protective laptop pocket from my bag and it looks like this now. My best guess is that it must have hit something hard and somehow broken. I tried restarting and it looks the same. The screen doesn’t feel cracked and nor does the outside of it.

If anyone knows how this happened and/or how to fix it please let me know!! My mom bought this for me and I feel so bad.
