Has anyone noticed an influx of strong players in anon bullet?
I used to win ~70% of my games in anon bullet (2+1), but now I'm winning maybe 20 or 30%. I'm not playing nearly my best (because that's boring), but with the same effort, I'm losing way more now than I did 3 months ago, and even more so than a year ago.
For example, everyone now seems to know how to counter the Alien Gambit, which used to win me a decent amount of games a while back. Now, everyone's guarding against it. I know it's unsound, but still.
Or how everyone suddenly mounts the perfect defense the second I get an offensive advantage, when just a second ago they were playing casually, and within 10 moves it ends up gone.
Or how every fun but risky move I make is always instantly punished, whereas before I could get away with some shenanigans.
Has anyone noticed this? Or am I the only one? It's not that there's anything inherently wrong with this, but it has made anon into a tryhard-fest, which is what I used to play anon to avoid in the first place. I've been playing for over a decade, so I can only imagine how painful it is for newer players.
