Skit the Beagle is Doing Great - Update

It has been nearly a month since Skit made his Reddit Debut. Some have been asking on how he has been, so I wanted to let everyone know!
Skit is making slow, yet steady progress. His skittishness can be a be setback for him, but he is slowly showing hints of his personality to us.
Skit gives a mean side eye, but he loves pillows and laying in bed. He trots in our backyard, especially after a potty break. He has begun to run more and doesn't tuck his tail under himself quite as often as he used to. He loves chicken treats --- he isn't a big fan of lamb-flavored things. He doesn't play much with toys, but that could change with time.
We tried moving his bed things to a crate. I thought he might like the coverage and really dig the cave-like bed once a blanket was draped over the crate. This caused a bit of a setback. We believe he saw this to be more like a trap (like the one we finally caught him in) rather than a bed. We aren't sure if he will ever be ready for a crate.
Skit freeroams at home with our other dog when we are at work. He jumps on the bed and snoozes on our pillows, or he watches out the window before succumbing to a nap. He and our other dog get along pretty well; however, we do separate them at feeding time since they like to eat each other's food (despite it being the same but different portions).
We have been hoping for better weather, so Skit can truly enjoy the backyard. Many of you probably know how that is faring. Although, Skit seems to like the snow at least a little bit before coming in and curling up in his blankets.
Thank you all for checking in on him. My biggest ask is that you continue keeping your eyes open for people's missing pets. We actually have a small, white yorkie/maltese looking dog that pops in around our home every now and then. We've reported sightings and set out food, but it seems a big aggressive and doesn't want to get too close to us. Having a positive community that is willing to search, post posters, and keep their eyes open is what truly kept us going when Skit was missing.
