is lexapro worth it ? - day one

all year i’ve suffered with intense anxiety- mainly feelings of doom 24/7 and occasional panic attacks, but also physical symptoms such a dizziness and head drops. all of this has lead me to feel very depressed as well. so the doctor prescribed me 5mg of escitalopram for the first week and then 10 mg. i put off taking it for a while but finally decided to start yesterday morning. within 2 hours i was shaking, nauseous and palms were sweaty. i felt off the rest of the day. today i’ve woken up with a pounding headache and an upset stomach, i’m starting to rethink taking medication (this is my first time ever taking meds) and might just give up. are these common side effects ? i’m scared to keep taking it and end up worse than i was before…
