Swan Song is a constant contrast between lyrics and production and it might be my favorite thing everrr

I see that Swan Song is not the type of right-in-your-face bangerz like Easy and Smart, but the genius lies in its lyrics and production.

I loooove it when Fimmies sang powerful and badass songs, but the more I listen to and understand Swan Song’s lyrics, the more I fall in love with it 🥰

It was quite refreshing to listen to Swan Song, because although there are A LOT of kpop songs about self-love, self-respect, fuck-the-haters and whatnot; they all lean into this anger, frustration or depression state of emotion. But for Swan Song, I think it leans more into acceptance and very close to forgiveness.

They were singing a sad song, but rather than being outright depressed, the song has this light-hearted tone in it, as if Fimmies are already so familiar with what happened they could take it lightly. But it’s obvious that what they went thru is NEVER light-hearted or supposed to be taken easy, and it’s more heartbreaking.

The production is beautiful too and ties so well with the message. Their light-hearted tone just like they were telling a random story, the soft and angelic “eh-eh~~” part is like something you hear at a funeral; soothing but heartbreaking.

Swan Song is one of their most badass songs for me, because of how real and authentic it is.

Some songs I also love that have the same vibe: Not Strong Enough - boygenius The Archer - Taylor Swift
