Boundary dispute

Neighbouring house sold last year.

New Neighbour has for the 3rd time, cut boundary trees without notice with a tractor(we've had clothes hanging, get torn by branches flying). . They cut it lower each time and have really butchered the hedging in parts of the boundary.

Country house, no boundary fence but aerial planning seems to place the trees on our side. But Neighbour is admanent its on their side and they can cut them down if they want to.

Neighbour also tried to drive the tractor at me when I asked them to not cut the tree/bushes any lower. they're at 5-7ft., totally up and down.from.the butchering. So I'm hesitant to go back them and want any communication done via a mediator/ solicitor.

Do you think a solicitor would be worth going to, to stop neighbour decimating the hedges? and what about notice before they come cut with a tractor?

Theh have even came onto OUR yard to cut at the hedges, this was the first time, until we put fence poles in the gap!
