Just a thought... You're not broke, you're just smoking your money away!
I just discovered this reddit page and noticed a lot of people talking about saving loads of money after quitting, and i just had a slap in the face, sort of "AHA! DUH!" moment
My partner and I smoke daily together but I've decided to seriously make the effort this time to quit. (I'm only a couples days in, please don't judge lol)
He makes $80k a year but always talks about how he doesn't have any money/can't afford things. I grew up pretty broke - not DIRT poor but just enough to be really conscious of where my money goes.... So I'm always like "dude you make like, twice as much as me, what do you mean you don't have money??"
He's MUCH more of a stoner than me (I usually smoke 1 bowl or so a day at most, but he'll smoke upwards of 4 or 5) and then it dawned on me today that the reason he doesn't have money is because he spends $200+ every week or so on weed!!! No wonder he says he doesn't have money... $800 a month is as much as I pay monthly in my student loans!
You could earn a 4 year bachelors degree with that much money!! 🤯
Tldr: weeds expensive - good enough insentive to quit
