Chances of admission to t50?
Hey everyone this post is going to have a few caveats to it and I’ll try my best to be comprehensive of everything without being over informative I just have a lot of questions. I graduate with my bachelors in December & I’ve been studying for the lsat for a year. My gpa is very low at 2.7 but I got perfect grades in my junior and senior year. My freshman & sophomore year I was just focused on playing soccer & didn’t care about grades , even though I wanted to go to law school I didn’t think about it, oh well. I am planning to take the test in October with the hopes of scoring above 166. My biggest concern is I was arrested on 2021 for felony possession of cocaine less then 1g. I bartended throughout college and I worked late hours it was a Korean restaurant open til 5 am & serving alcohol illegally. Anyways, I would take regulars/bosses home if they got to intoxicated all the time, & a lot of them partake in the use of cocaine. I was on the way home after a late shift and I fell asleep at the well not intoxicated or anything. And they found it under the passengers seat and I was so upset. Whatever who cares. It’s currently 2024 and I’m still waiting for approval for in my county what’s called a pre-trial diversion. It’s a program for first time non violent felony offenders to get it expunged. It involves like a drug class & sometimes community service. Since me being out on bond most of college and having an open case I wasn’t able to obtain any type of internships or relative work experience. I obviously plan to write an addendum but I’m just curious with my low gpa & the situation would any decent school take me? Or would it be unlikely for me to get admitted to good law schools. For context I live in Dallas and I attended a Christian high school, and a Christian university. (SAGU) my dream school is Baylor because I want to be a prosecutor. With smu & a&m being behind it. And worst case scenario Texas tech. I don’t really care how much or if I receive any scholarship as I will be using the PSLF payment plan so I’d be more then willing to pay sticker price. Can anyone give me some feedback/insight? I’ve looked at lsd stats too closely lately and fear that only the people with my stats that get accepted all have work experience or military experience.
