To Buy or Not to Buy?

Question for those who have Kindles: Kindle or Kindle Paperwhite….or the iPad I already have lol

I am a mom of two toddlers under three, so while I would love to read paperback books, I find myself reading quickly on my phone in between all the chaos and when I get into bed at night. I do have an iPad, but I want to make sure I am not getting distracted by anything else. Do I suck it up and continue to read on my phone/use the iPad, or do I treat myself to a kindle?? If I do get the Kindle, which one should I get? I don’t need anything fancy, so was thinking the regular kindle, but then started to read all about light and blah blah so unsure.

Any insight?
