The Future of r/Katseye: A New Chapter + Welcome the Mods!

Hello Eyekons,

When I first created r/Katseye in November 2023, I had no idea how much this community would grow in such a short time. What started as a small space for discussion has now become a thriving subreddit where thousands of people come together to support and celebrate the group. Seeing this evolution has been incredible, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve built together.

However, as with any growing community, challenges come with the territory. Over the past few months, I’ve come to realize that for r/Katseye to continue thriving, it needs fresh leadership with a clear vision for the future. Moderating a large community is no easy task, and while I’ve done my best, I believe stepping aside will allow the subreddit to grow in ways that best serve everyone.

With that in mind, I’m happy to announce that r/Katseye is transitioning to a new leadership team, that will bring renewed energy and structure to the subreddit.

Meet the New Moderation Team

  • u/DazzlingDig will be stepping in as the new Head Moderator, effective immediately. Their experience and communication skills make them well-suited to lead the community forward. I will be staying on temporarily to support the transition.
  • u/bk1155 is joining as a Moderator and Layout Designer, working on improving the look and feel of the subreddit.
  • u/why1765 has been a fantastic addition to the team over the past few weeks and will be continuing in their moderator role.

Looking Back, Moving Forward

Moderating r/Katseye has been an unforgettable experience. From the early days of quiet discussions to the massive wave of engagement during the Popstar Academy release, where we reached over 1.7 million visitors, it has been a journey filled with learning, growth, and incredible moments.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who has been part of this, especially the moderators who have worked alongside me—Splinter, Sliver, Beginning, Blink, M8zen —as well as every single one of you who has contributed to making r/Katseye what it is today. Your discussions, insights, and passion have shaped this community, and I have no doubt it will continue to thrive under new leadership.

Moving forward, u/DazzlingDig will take the lead on future announcements, town halls, and moderation updates. I'll remain on the team until February 1st to make sure the transition goes smoothly as possible. I’m excited to see where r/Katseye goes next, and I’ll always be grateful to have been part of this chapter.

Thank you all, and here’s to the next phase of r/Katseye.
