Applying to 200 jobs?

I see a lot of comments here and on other sites where people say they've applied 200 times and not gotten a response. I've been laid off 2 months and have probably only applied about 15 or so times to a job posting. The rejections are starting to trickle in. I had one request for a work activity.

But I can't find 200 jobs I'm qualified for in my geographic area, and I'm including 2 U.S. states in my search. I'm also including some a little below and a little above my experience level, and contract positions too.

So I'm just wondering how ppl finds 200 jobs to apply to, even in a year? Just curious.
