Hiking boots or Gor Tex trail runners

I’m packing for our 18 day trip to Ireland this weekend and am really struggling with what to bring for footwear. Specifically for the more active stuff.

I’m from Colorado, it’s very dry here and when I hike I wear trail running shoes with a very aggressive tread - these are my current hiking shoes.

They are gortex because I feel this keeps dust out better than regular shoes. I’ve hiked many of our 14,000 ft mountains in these and never needed ankle support or hiking boots.

After reading a bunch of Ireland forums I bought some actual light hiking boots, these Danner 600’s

I’ve gone on a couple hikes with them this summer and they are very light and comfortable but the tread isn’t as aggressive as what I’m used to. I could see them being a lot better in wet/muddy environments. But,they also take up a lot more space than the trail runners in my suitcase.

We are doing lots of hiking (Croagh Patrick, diamond hill) on our Ireland trip but nothing crazy as far as I can tell. We also have a few bike rides planned (gap of dunloe, inis mor)

Which shoe should I bring? I’m going a little crazy going back and forth.

The other pair of shoes I am bringing/wearing on the plane and for non hiking activities are these slightly heeled blundstones Chelsea Boots

Any input/personal experience is appreciated, thanks!
