Charles Fort, Spike Island, Blarney Castle in two full days? Drive time/Roads
This is the last leg of our trip in two weeks and I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this or if we should skip Kinsale/Charles Fort. We will be leaving early on a Sunday morning from Brehon Hotel in Killarney and then planning to drive to Kinsale and walk around Charles fort.
Then head to Cobh an depart on the 2:PM Ferry for Spike Island. We are staying the night in Cork at the Hotel Montenotte.
The next morning we plan to head straight to Blarney Castle/Gardens and then return to cork to check out Cork and things like the English Market. We are then staying a second night at hotel Montenotte.
The next morning we need to depart early for the next part of the trip.
- I know that Charles Fort and Spike island in one day is probably a very long day, but I feel like it's doable?
- Is this a good order to do things in if we are heading from Killarney? Or would rearranging these things somehow make more sense?
- I am a little nervous about which route to take from Killarney to Kinsale, I am trying to avoid L roads, is the ideal route to take N22 to N71 to R607? About an hour and a half drive?
- From Kinsale to Cobh would R600 to N27,N40, N25, to R624 make the most sense? Is about an hour drive correct?
Google maps is driving me crazy.
Thank you for any insight!
