Saving up for my own car

I’m 19 about to be 20. So I’ve been driving my parents car and I wanna save up to buy my own. Because I don’t always have access to that car and I feel like I want my own. This is a goal of mine that I’ve been wanting to achieve and Im planning on working during college to save up for this car. My parents don’t want me to work during college so I could focus on school and having fun which is good but at the same time having a car of my own is a big goal of mine that I want to achieve. Should I just go for it? My parents don’t know that this is a goal of mine and i don’t really want to tell them but I feel like hey I’m an adult I should just go for it and do what I feel is best for me imo any advice? Thanks
