IF, 50 pounds down and tips
SW 278, CW 228, GW 220 - will aim for 200 after IF 18:6 Sun-Thursday, 23:1/OMAD Thursday-Sunday (work nights)
Ok, so we have a lot to unpack here but let's not waste time: 50 pounds down in a year. Last year I decided not to wait til January 1 but a little bit early to get going and feel better about my appearance. At my job (Amazon) I CAN ABSOLUTELY go to work and be lazy and sit around but I found ways to move around more.
I started trying to cut back in meals but found that I couldn't be happy eating 3 small meals. When I would count calories I found the consistency in calories especially eating out wasn't there. Ok. Cut out fast foods and cooked at home. When I decided to do IF I started eating a later breakfast and small lunch and regular dinner. This then pushed me to finding the Fasty app and then I went to 13:11. Over time I worked my way to 16:8 but with work since I do walk a fair amount now I found myself gassed at the end of my shifts. I had to eat better. I started adding more protein any way I could which helped a lot. I'm currently at 18:6 mon-Thursday and Thursdays I switch to OMAD due to work. So I will eat Thursdays before work, grab a drink or 2 at work and come home and sleep then repeat. My day mon-thurs. I skip breakfast, may snack for lunch and then eat my dinner with family. If I eat heavy for lunch I adjust what I eat for dinner. Thursday-Sunday I eat once a day around 5-7pm and drink along the night either zero calorie drinks (diet mtn dew/Diet Pepsi/pepsi zero/0 calorie stary/0 calorie Gatorade) because I work nights I will drink a Red Bull or 2 to keep me awake since I work 12 hour nights and drive an hour to work.
Now the pictures: the pic with the red arrow? I had to have my gallbladder removed in august. The weight I had lost I gained it back. It was a bummer but I knew once I healed I could get back to it since all I did was sit around and ate for 4 weeks.
The two pictures of food. There's 1 with chicken and rice and broccoli and some cream of chicken sauce. Those are plates I would eat when I could. We changed a lot of what we ate here at home since I grew up frying EVERYTHING.
The 2nd plate is WHEN THE WEIGHT STARTED FALLING OFF. So: the left plate is what we used to eat and the right plate is what we use now. The right plate 1 cup rice, 1 cup beans/ham and rice and 2 cheese biscuits. The left was 1.5 cups of rice, 2 cups of beans/ham and 3 cheese biscuits. CAN I eat the left plate!? Yes! But the right plate will fill me up! Why eat more when you don't need to!?
The last pics are of steps. Go walking. Go walking go walking go walking go walking, Walk around work. Walk outside. Get some nice shoes. That Apple Watch you love? Love it more.
So you don't want to read alll of that? Cool, the summary
-eat proper portions, stop going back for seconds and listen to me: if you get a dessert and you have accounted for it? Good!! Don't eat... 👀 sneak in and grab a snack later. Grab the snack and account for it. Those 150-200 calorie snacks and treats add up. I'm not saying ditch them but just account for them. -eat fruits and veggies. -drink water: if you CANT drink water alone, get a drink and whatever you drink in your soft drink, match it. Got a 16 oz soda? Ok drink that soda but rinse the bottle and fill it with water -I wore an extra layer when I would go walking to burn more calories. Not so much that I would fall out but enough to work up a sweat -Get your steps in! There is no set time in a day for walking YOU have to squeeze it in! You can do it! -diet sodas/zero calorie drinks? Yes please!
Lastly. This isn't "starving yourself" listen to your body. If you are trying 16:8 and find you can only get to 14 hours without crashing/dipping then guess what. Do 14:10 and be successful at that until you can progress. Too much too early won't help. I have a wife, 3 kids, a dog, and 3 cats and I want to be around for the long haul. You can do it, stay committed and work for it. Be safe and love all ❤️ if you have any questions I hover around this page a lot so I can help
