Visiting Himalayas for the first time
Hey! I'm M27 from Bangalore who has visited Delhi and Rajasthan areas in North India but has never gone further up and seen the Himalayas. I want to know from everyone, if you had to see the Himalayas for the first time, how would you do it?
I have a few preferences - I wouldn't like it to be fully snow covered, maybe just on the mountain slopes, a little dry with lush vegetation and grass all around.
I'm not in a very social phase right now, so I'd prefer quiet places which don't have a lot of taxis with loud tourists and music playing around everywhere like in those reels on insta. I'm guessing most of this happens in Himachal. I'm looking for off beat places to explore and just hear, see and smell nature and experience local culture.
Right now I have few options in mind - To go looking for the Red panda in Sikkim or Arunachal Pradesh. But I haven't seen anything concrete about how to spot Red Pandas on your own other than tours which cost a bomb. Along with this plan, thinking of doing a trek which takes us to the Kanchenjunga viewing point.
The other plan is the either ride my bike around Himachal or Ladhak areas or sign up for a bike tour there.
So good people of reddit, please tell me. If you had to see the Himalayas for the first time, how would you do it? Where would you go and what time of the year?
