Transition into IAM

I haven't had a job in 14 months going into 15 soon, my last job was as a Business Analyst. I want to transition into IAM roles, be it IAM business analyst or even entry level IAM roles, I seen several roles that require around 1-3 years of IAM experience, I was watching a video of this IAM analyst on YouTube and he said if you got projects and a solid vendor specific cert, its possible to overcome those qualifications.

how true is this. I want to get experience with azure and okta.
