Sticks out tonight for fallen player.

Hey guys, but of a heavy hearted rant here. Had a skate today. Just pick-up hockey. Every week, same time, most of the same guys. All age groups.

Someone went off early without saying anything to anyone. We found him collapsed and unconscious in the shower by himself at the end of the skate, blue in the face. Everyone did what they needed to do, CPR, defib machine, call 911. Everyone reacted promptly. After everything when the paramedics and all the first responders left he still was not responsive.

He was early 40s.

We don't know the official fate yet..this just happened hours ago. But it's not looking good.

This is a reminder that we're all family in this. We all play for the love of the game, we're all human and not invincible. If you're feeling off, say something to someone. You never know if that funny feeling will turn into a life changing ordeal.

I'm putting my stick outside tonight. Have a thought or a prayer for a fellow hockey player.

Sticks out tonight.

Update... he didn't make it
