Non-Thesis Vs Thesis-Based MSc For Pursuing Subsequent PhD

I was wondering if completing a non-thesis MSc would provide less of an advantage compared to completing a thesis-based MSc degree before applying to PhD programs. I'm looking at a non-thesis MSc focusing more on coursework with several smaller research projects, papers, and presentations in an area of study that I'm very interested in. I'm worried that completing a non-thesis based MSc will hurt my applications to PhD programs.
