how to completely disconnect my camera roll from google photos? fuck google photos

i downloaded google photos a while back because i needed to retrieve a concert video that wasnt showing up in my camera roll. i found the video, saved it and moved on. i then received an email saying i had run out of storage on my google account and i wouldn’t receive emails anymore after january 15 so i deleted google photos and assumed the issue was fixed. it was not. google photos was still syncing my photos and filling up storage with no easy way to simply get my camera roll off google photos and keep my gmail working, apart from of course giving them a dollar for 100gbs just to give myself enough time to fix this dumbass storage problem without them completely breaking my emails. is there any easy way just to completely disconnect my camera roll from google photos? its taking up google storage that i dont need it to be taking up.
