Is it worth attempting to permanently move to Germany through the Opportunity Card Visa?
I'm 20M and from the US and have dreamed of moving to Europe for the past 3 years because I love learning languages and I want to be able to speak in another language all day. Europe sounds especially good for me because I'd be able to easily go on vacation to countries that speak another language.
I recently found out the Opportunity Card Visa (OC Visa) exists and I've always thought it's extremely hard to move abroad to any country but this visa seems to make it a lot easier to move to Germany. I know it's not guaranteed and I've read you need to be at least conversational in German (maybe even fluent) to have a chance at finding a job while on the OC Visa.
I've never had an interest in learning German even though I like the language because of the high rates of English proficiency. If I knew I had a good chance of being able to permanently move to Germany with the OC Visa, I would start learning German and work on the other requirements, but I'm not sure how likely/realistic it is that it would work out for me.
I don't want to spend a bunch of time learning German (and fulfilling whatever requirements that are needed for the visa but not for anything else in my life, if there are any that exist) if I'll likely not be able to permanently move to Germany, but I also really want to move abroad. Should I try this or is it not worth the trouble?
